Welcome to the Global Children Outreach web site! We are very excited to share our activities with the larger community. We are a program based at Illinois State University. But whether you are near or far, we invite you to make use of our information, and to get involved with us! Please take some time to familiarize yourself with our site.
Our vision is to help street children, orphans, and deeply impoverished children around the world. To do this, we are implementing innovative and action oriented service, teaching, and research projects.
Our immediate mission is to raise awareness about the existence and needs of these children, and to provide assistance such as financial support and English language videos for these children. This is based upon our communication with initial organizational partners in other countries. Our outreach base is at Illinois State University. We are working with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, emeritus faculty, and community members to accomplish this mission.

We've already had an awareness-raising event, and presented at a teaching symposium. We're getting ready to bag groceries for tips at Bloomington's Cub Foods on April 4, 2009 from 10-5.
Our web site went live, we created T-shirts, bagged groceries for tips, and made presentations. We continued to study the situation of street children and orphans.
Finalized our logo, ordered books and materials, and worked on this web site!
